Applied Behavior Analysis
A Proven, Personalized Approach to Helping Children Grow
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach to understanding behavior and teaching meaningful skills. It focuses on helping children build communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing behaviors that may get in the way of learning. At Summerlin ABA Services, we use ABA to support real progress—one step at a time, and always in partnership with your family.
How ABA Works
ABA starts with observation. We get to know your child: their strengths, their challenges, and the way they experience the world. From there, we create a personalized plan with clear goals, whether it’s learning to make a request, follow directions, play with a peer, or complete a morning routine.
Therapy sessions are structured, positive, and goal-driven—often involving games, activities, or routines that are familiar and motivating. Each skill is broken into manageable steps, practiced regularly, and reinforced in ways that are meaningful to your child.
What Does A Session Look Like?
Sessions can happen at home, in school, or in our clinic, and they’re always tailored to your child’s needs and environment. A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works one-on-one with your child using a plan created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
You can expect:
- Warm, engaging interactions centered around play, routines, and learning
- Skills taught in small, achievable steps with lots of positive reinforcement
- Data collected during each session to track growth and guide adjustments
- Opportunities for you as a parent to observe, ask questions, and get involved.
A Focus on Collaboration & Compassion
We understand that every child—and every family—is different. That’s why our approach is never one-size-fits-all. At Summerlin ABA, we prioritize respectful, individualized care that honors your values, your goals, and your child’s voice.
You won’t find cookie-cutter programs here. You’ll find a supportive team ready to walk with you, adjust when needed, and celebrate each step forward.
